Jodi's Network of Hope is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation which
was founded in 2005 on the 10 year anniversary of Jodi Huisentruit's abduction. Our organization was established by
a small group of friends, family and concerned citizens in an effort to honor our beloved friend, Jodi Huisentruit.
Jodi was a victim of abduction during the prime of her life in 1995. She had an established TV
journalist career when she was abducted on her way to her morning anchor job in Mason City, Iowa. Jodi
was never heard from again. It is a tragedy and one that is too often repeated. It is our love for Jodi that
has encouraged us to take action.
Our organization is designed to promote
positive educational opportunities.
We
currently have one scholarship program entering its 5th year and just introduced our second scholarship a.k.a. the "Gumption
Scholarship" for high school seniors.
Safety
training and awareness.
We have
adopted the "Safe Side" training program developed by John Walsh and Julie Clark and are taking
it to the schools in an hour long facilitated training program for 2nd or 3rd graders, and donating training materials to
school libraries.
We are introducing a new training
effort in 2010 called "Not Me" personal safety training for women. We are so excited about
this program and the empowerment it will bring to many women.
