About Our Organization

Jodi's Network of Hope is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation which was founded in 2005 on the 10 year anniversary of Jodi Huisentruit's abduction.  Our organization was established by a small group of friends, family and concerned citizens in an effort to honor our beloved friend, Jodi Huisentruit.
Jodi was a victim of abduction during the prime of her life in 1995.  She had an established TV journalist career when she was abducted on her way to her morning anchor job in Mason City, Iowa.  Jodi was never heard from again.  It is a tragedy and one that is too often repeated.  It is our love for Jodi that has encouraged us to take action.
Our organization is designed to promote positive educational opportunities.  Jodi herself knew at an early age what she wanted to accomplish with her life, and had big dreams.  We want to encourage that in kids today.
We are building our organization in many ways.  Safety training and awareness is an area we are focusing and expanding in the coming years.  We are looking forward to providing helpful information in interesting ways in order to protect our youth and give them tools to help themselves.  We have adopted the "Safe Side" training program developed by John Walsh and Julie Clark and are taking it to the schools in an hour long facilitated training program for 2nd or 3rd graders, and donating materials to school libraries.  This is just the beginning of what we hope to accomplish in this area.
We currently have one scholarship program entering its 4th year and we will continue to look for new opportunities to motivate kids.
We added a Jr. Golf Invitational in 2007.  We believe that sports and extra-curricular activities build character, and golf is a sport near and dear to the organization since Jodi herself was a championship high school golfer.
We hope you enjoy our site and would love to hear your feedback.  We are small but we are growing, we appreciate your support.
